We grow from #30 to #300, up to 8″ caliper and 18′ tall, and the list shows exactly which variety and size combinations exist right now. You know before you bid, and if we are short you find out in ten seconds rather than after a day of waiting.

Around 30,000 trees are in production here, over 800 of them at #100 and larger. A contract puts your name on the trees a job needs before you bid it, and about 1,500 trees are growing under contract for one customer today, so this is a process we run, not one we describe.
How contract growing works
Every quote states freight up front, so the number you carry into the bid is the number you pay. Contract pricing is agreed when you sign, and it stays agreed at delivery.

What we growContract growing
Large-caliper trees are not something you source in a hurry. Contract growing puts your name on specific trees while they are still growing, at a price agreed up front, so a job two or three seasons out is bid on trees that are already growing in containers here. About 1,500 trees are growing under contract for one customer today.
Contracted stock is not offered to anyone else, whatever the list says. When the phase breaks ground, the trees are still there.

One contract, as it stands today
A Texas nursery group with several locations wanted oaks it could count on for the next few seasons rather than whatever the market had in the spring. The contract covers five varieties, Live Oak, Shumard Red Oak, Mexican White Oak, Chinkapin Oak and Cedar Elm, in #45 and #65, with a price written down for each delivery year through 2030, stepping up a little each year and known now.
About 300 of those trees are tagged for delivery in 2026 and about 1,175 for 2027. They are in our rows today with the customer's name on them, and they are not on the live list because they are not for sale to anyone else.
Every contract is written for the job, so treat these as the normal shape rather than a rule book. Anything here can be talked about.
Contract growing is worth the paperwork when the quantity is large or the specification tight enough that finding the trees later would be a real risk. For smaller or nearer-term work, our regular stock is usually the better answer, and the live list will show you whether it covers the job. The long version, with the terms explained, is on the blog.

Sizes
Measured across our current stock. Caliper and height vary by variety, so treat these as the working range. Not every variety is grown in every size; the live list shows which combinations exist right now. Around 800 trees at #100 and larger are on the ground today, more than half of them Live Oak. The largest sizes are grown in smaller numbers and are the ones most often grown to order, so if a job needs them in volume on a date, start that conversation now rather than when the list runs short. The farm
Trees packed tight grow upward chasing light, and you end up with height but a thin canopy. We space wider than we strictly have to, which means fewer trees per acre and a slower return on the ground. What it buys is form: a tree that grew with room around it has the canopy a design is drawn around, and looks finished the day it is planted rather than in five years.
Growing in the container also keeps the whole root system. A field-grown tree gets dug, and digging cuts the roots it spent years building; ours leave with every root they grew, so they establish faster and can go in the ground in most months of the year. The farm is in Sealy, about an hour west of Houston on I-10 and a straightforward drive from Austin or San Antonio. You are welcome to visit, inspect the stock, and tag the specific trees going on your job. Call ahead so someone is free to walk with you.

You tell us the varieties, sizes, quantities and timing, we agree a schedule and a price in writing, and specific trees are tagged with your name and grown here until your site is ready. You pay a deposit at signing, normally 25% of the contract value, and progress payments on the schedule the contract sets out.
